Enrolling in the Apple Developer Program

After your Apple ID is active, you can enroll in the Apple Developer Program. To list the company name as the seller on the App Store, the company must be recognized as a legal entity in its country.

Membership Fee

  • $99 USD annually (may vary by region; charged in local currency during sign-up).
  • Membership includes access to beta OS releases, advanced app capabilities, and tools to develop, test, and distribute apps and Safari extensions.

Types of Enrollment

  • Individual: Sole proprietor or single-person business. Your personal legal name will appear as the seller on the App Store. You'll need to provide basic personal information, such as full legal name and residential address.
  • Company or Organization: Apps will be published under your organization's legal entity name. Requires additional verification (D-U-N-S Number, legal entity status, and authority to sign agreements).

Requirements for Organization Enrollment

  1. D-U-N-S® Number: To verify your organization's identity and legal status, Apple requires a valid D-U-N-S Number. This is a unique, nine-digit identifier issued by Dun & Bradstreet, commonly used to recognize businesses worldwide.
    • Check whether your organization already has a D-U-N-S Number.
    • If not, you can request one — it's typically free in most countries.
    • Learn how to apply for a D-U-N-S Number: https://developer.apple.com/support/D-U-N-S
  2. Legal Entity Status: Your organization must be officially registered as a legal entity to enter into binding agreements with Apple.
    • Apple does not accept registrations under trade names, DBAs (Doing Business As), fictitious businesses, or branch offices.
    • The legal name of the organization must match the Tax ID associated with the business and will appear as the app seller name on the App Store.
  3. Legal Authority to Sign Agreements: The person completing the enrollment must have the authority to act on behalf of the organization.
    • This typically includes owners, founders, executive leaders, senior project managers, or any individual who has been granted formal legal authority by the company.
